Raleigh CD Rates

Recently, a study was conducted by Raleigh Banking Rates to determine the current certificate of deposit interest rate averages and see how they compare to the national average. Raleigh Banking Rates compared Raleigh CD rates for 6-, 12- and 24-month terms in and around the city, and found that they beat out the U.S. average by a small fraction.

Though average CD rates in Raleigh, NC are currently higher than the national average, it’s important to note that the difference isn’t very large. For instance, the average 6-month CD rate in Raleigh is .76% APY, while the average for the entire U.S. is .60% APY. Similarly, Raleigh 12-month CD rates average .87% APY and the average 24-month rate is 1.24% APY. Just a bit higher are the national average rates of .86% APY and 1.21% APY, respectively. Still, this is great news for depositors interested in generating the best possible earnings in their CD accounts.

The rates used in this analysis were compiled from an interest rates database belonging to Raleigh Banking Rates, which compiles data from local banks and credit unions within a 50-mile radius of the city.
